from anywhere in the world.
ALL COGNAC IS BRANDY
BUT NOT ALL BRANDY
IS COGNAC.

In order to bear the Appellation d’Origine Contrôlée Cognac,
the eaux-de-vie must be the result
of the double distillation of wine
in a Charentais pot still, the wine
coming from specific areas of the
cognac region which covers much
of Charente and Charente Maritime.
The eaux-de-vie must then be aged
in oak barrels for a minimum
of two years.

73 000 hectares.
Total number of vineyard
owners: 6 400.
Martell is a major landowner
but has also established strong
relationships with the vineyard
owners since the beginning.
