Martell cognac House unveils the second limited edition of its VSOP cognac, “Paris Style”. This limited edition, created by the multi-talented artist Jean-Charles de Castelbajac features a colourful, pop-art inspired design of Montmartre, in a resolutely modern way.
This French artist with an ever-enquiring mind has overturned convention by drawing inspiration from an iconic Parisian district. “When I was asked to draw Montmartre for Martell I was very wary about clichés. I had to make it a pop-art version of Montmartre; a powerful burst of vivid colour. Somewhat as if our eyes could see in sepia and then suddenly switched to colour!” Jean-Charles de Castelbajac tells us. The result is a bottle in an entirely different guise with bright, joyful colours on a white background, which also hints at the brand’s history, for example with the cluster of grapes which evokes the vineyards from which this VSOP is born.
