You will need a coupe glass and a cocktail shaker for this cocktail. Being served in a uncommon glass will bring some surprise as well. Double walled glasses will keep the cocktail colder for a longer time.
Fill a cocktail shaker with ice.
Pour all ingredients into the shaker.
Shake well until the metal gets frosted.
Strain into a coupe glass.
Twist a zest peel of your choice from the chosen flavours over the drink and when done discard the peel.
This cocktail was invented in France, likely at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes (French Riviera). It became an instant hit in London. In 1922, Robert Vermeire from the Embassy Club published the first evidence of this recipe in the recipe book 'Cocktails - How to Mix Them.'
