An American summer favourite. Add some cardamon for an elegant and intense twist.

    What you need

    Ingredients

    Cocktails for:
    1 person
    • 50 ml
      Martell Blue Swift
    • 10 hojas
      menta fresca
    • 10 ml
      jarabe de azúcar
    • 1 ramillete
      menta
    • Frutos Rojos

    Instructions

    • 1Presionar las hojas de menta en una taza de julepe con una cuchara de bar de punta plana o un muddler.
    • 2Añadir Martell y jarabe de azúcar y rellenar con hielo picado.
    • 3Remover bien hasta que la taza esté bien escarchada.
    • 4Agregar como guarnición bayas y un ramillete de menta.
    History

    A Hint of Mint

    A Julep was an ancient medicinal solution used in France in the 1600s. It became a drink in Virginia in 1784 and was mainly consumed by sugar plantation workers. The first recipe for a ‘Mint Julep’ with brandy appears in 1833 in Transatlantic Sketches, by Captain J.E. Alexander. In 1862, the master bartender Jerry Thomas suggests using cognac for the Mint Julep in How to Mix Drinks.
