Exploring a new dimension of Martell Aging Savoir-Faire.

MARTELL VSOP MATURED IN RED BARRELS THE COGNAC PERFECT BALANCE

THE COGNAC PERFECT BALANCE

We exclusively mature our eaux-de-vie in fine-grained oak barrels, in order to subtly enhance the delicate fruit aromas of our spirit, crafted using Martell's specific distillation method.

When a barrel is called “Red,” a reference to the reddish color of aged wood, it has matured for at least two years and up to eight, reaching the perfect stage of maturation for both the wood and the spirit.

For Martell VSOP matured in Red Barrels, our cellar master selected only these very rare “red, fine-grained oak barrels” to mature this cognac, highlighting Martell's specific aging style.

MARTELL VSOP MATURED IN RED BARRELS TASTING NOTES

TASTING NOTES

A perfect harmony of luscious fruit aromas and refined oak overtones.

Aspect
A warm copper color with glints of gold, giving it a uniquely luminous appearance.

Nose

At first, the bouquet is round and fresh, with intense fruit notes. The aromas of fresh yellow stone fruits, like cherry plum and baby Reine-Claude, are gently coated by subtle notes of oak. Once in motion, the power of the aromas grows and gains depth, with fleshier fruits such as apricot or vine peach chiming in.

Mouthfeel

A full, broad attack that unveils the same intense fruity tones—plums,
peaches  and  apricots. The fruity flavors are marvelously enhanced by delicate notes of sweet spices from the wood of the red barrels—the very same barrels that create that perfect balance between the expressiveness of the  eaux -de-vie and refinement of the spiced notes.

Martell VSOP Matured in Red Barrels—fruitiness, finesse, and utter delicacy.
