To inaugurate the collection, Maison Martell naturally chose the château which represents the finest expression of its art de vivre: the Château de Chanteloup. The heart and soul of Maison Martell, Chanteloup was the historic home of the Martell family. Situated in the heart of the Borderies terroir, the signature of Martell cognacs since 1715, the Château de Chanteloup also represents the extraordinary continuity of the style, savoir-faire and success of Maison Martell.
Demonstrating the virtuosity of the Martell Cellar Master, L’Or de Jean Martell – Réserve du Château Chanteloup blends more than 1,400 eaux-de-vie from the four finest terroirs in the Cognac region. After blending, it is further aged in barrels of 300 year-old oak, sourced from France’s most ancient forests. The ageing process takes place first in a historic, dedicated cellar in Cognac, and was completed at Chanteloup
Maison Martell created in collaboration with Baccarat an object of exquisite elegance: a decanter evoking a single, pure drop of cognac, which complements the richness and refinement of the blend within. The decanter – whose neck is embellished with 19-carat gold – rests on a gold-tone pedestal. Released in extremely quantities of just 1,000 individually numbered decanters.
The decanter nested inside a beautifully crafted wooden box. This ensemble, whose minimalist design breaks with convention, creates a ritual which intensifies the sense of anticipation.
