A refreshing cognac cocktail with a touch of citrus. Add a twist with some pomegranate juice and bitters.
Serve in an unusual glass to add a touch of surprise. Double-walled glasses keep cocktails colder for longer.
Invented in France, most probably at the Carlton Hotel in Cannes on the French Riviera. It was soon a hit in London and by 1922 the recipe had appeared in Robert Vermeire’s classic Cocktails – How to Mix Them.
