Celebrating timeless elegance

Martell Cordon Bleu unveils vibrant bottle redesign

When Edouard Martell, great-grandson of founder Jean Martell, created Martell Cordon Bleu in 1912, it was destined to be one a kind: a new quality of cognac with a unique taste, and a distinctive bottle inspired by the slender cognaçaises traditionally used in the Cognac region.

The bottle represented a daring departure from the ostentatious designs of the early 1900s, and would soon become a symbol of timeless elegance.

One hundred and ten years later, the world’s number one prestige XO cognac celebrates its anniversary by unveiling an audacious new bottle design.

    Homage to heritage

    Label of elegance

The design captures Cordon Bleu’s spirit of audacity, infusing a sense of energy, while respecting the continuity imposed by the cognac’s iconic status and symbols of heritage.

Among the most singular aspects of the new design, the words ‘Cordon Bleu’ are emblazoned in graceful handwritten script across the label. This emphasises the unique character of the cognac, and the almost personal bond it creates with its legions of admirers.

    Free in spirit

    Ultimate symbol of freedom

As a bird, the swift is iconic and intriguing, a superb flyer capable of travelling great distances at a time.

As the historic emblem of Maison Martell, the swift expresses the free, daring spirit of the House. The swift is incorporated into the new design, appearing both as a raised motif on the glass bottle, and as a contemporary, abstract pattern on the box.

The punt in the base of the bottle has also been redesigned. Its newly accentuated curve evokes the famously round, generous taste of Martell Cordon Bleu.

    Excellence embodied

    A ribbon and a seal

For more than a century, Martell Cordon Bleu has been instantly identifiable for its richness, elegance and finesse, but also its distinctive bottle design – elements of which remain today.

Look for the historic seal of the Martell family, along with the eponymous blue ribbon – a symbol of excellence that dates to the 16th century.

The new design gently reworks these symbols with vibrancy and modernity, playing with different shades of blue to create a sense of dynamism.
