    article

Together, Martell and 3-starred Chef Alexandre Mazzia create an intimate dining experience open to the kitchen of the Château de Chanteloup

A sensory, emotional journey built around cognac and gastronomy starting in July 2024.

Maison Martell’s Château de Chanteloup is opening to the public for the very first time in order to offer an unprecedented experience in Cognac. Together, Cellar Master Christophe Valtaud and the three Michelin star Chef Alexandre Mazzia have designed an exclusive dining experience – for up to six guests only – open to the kitchen, for a unique experience where gastronomy accompanies cognac in perfect harmony. Guests are guided by the Executive Chef and through meticulous service, along this exploratory journey throughout which cognac is present – with different expressions – at each sequence of the meal.

A haven of serenity in the heart of the Borderies, the signature terroir of Martell since 1715, the Château de Chanteloup was the long-time home of the Martell family. Until now, it received guests from around the world for exclusive, private visits. A symbol of the French art de vivre and the generosity so dear to Martell, the château now welcomes this new space designed as a private dining room, loyal to the spirit of this family home.

The perfect alchemy between cognac and gastronomy

Martell’s uncompromising savoir-faire enriched by the highly creative cuisine of Alexandre Mazzia.

Months of conversations and tastings yielded a real alchemy between the inventive creations of the Chef and the precious blends of the Cellar Master. Designed around cognac, the experience gives pride of place to the exclusive blends crafted by Christophe Valtaud from Martell’s reserve of eaux-de-vie, an exceptional heritage of 11,000 references. The markers of Alexandre Mazzia’s cuisine – toasted, spicy, smoked and peppery– are featured in the menu, designed to enhance the richness of the cognacs’ nuances.

For the very first time, a selection of rare vintages from the Martell reserve are available à la carte during the meal for guests who wish to personalise or deepen their tasting experience.

Signature Martell par Alexandre Mazzia is breaking the boundaries between kitchen and dining room to amplify immersive sensation. The space is a blend of contemporary design and the historic, architectural features of the château, with decorative details and materials inspired by Chanteloup and its terroir. Designer Jorge Penadés designed the furniture as well as the cognathèque which dramatizes the presentation of the precious blends created for this exclusive experience.
