Kayla Wong, sustainable fashion designer, and advocate for love

Kayla Wong is a style icon who has made a name for herself in Hong Kong’s famously competitive clothing industry. Placing ecological and social issues at the fore of her thinking she created her own brand, Basics for Basics. The clothes, made with fair labour, are sustainable, organic and recycled. It’s not only her T-shirts Kayla Wong wears on her sleeve but her passion for love between all genders. An advocate against homophobia, she proudly includes LGBTQA references on her clothing. In January, this tradition continues in collaboration with Martell as Standout Swift of the month. Kayla Wong has produced the ‘Pride’ T-shirt series, a collection featuring 15 unique and committed designs with the names of a gay couple on each, to tackle homophobia.
